ben voila je surfe sous opera ( un navigateur genial petit rapide complet et surtout qui plante que tres tres rarement et fait office de messagerie je le conseille a tout le monde a mort ie de merde) et j ai une couille j ai l'impression que java ne marche pas dessous ( enfin ca depend des sites ) et ca me lourde alors est ce que quelqu un peu m aider sinon ben c 'est pas grave tant pis pour ces sites la

C'est un très bon navigateur en effet, et une excellente alternative au couple infernal Internet Explorer / Outlook Express.

J'espère que tu as la dernière version d'Opera (7).

If you get errors like "Invalid bytecode" or "Applet crashed" when trying to view a Java applet, this means that the Java Runtime Environment is having problems interpreting the compiled Java source code of a Java applet. This is often caused by bad coding, or that the compilation of the Java applet (translating it from source code to Java code) went wrong. A probable cause for this is that the Java applet is compiled for the wrong Java version or that it isn't written according to the official Java specification by Sun Microsystems.

Microsoft's implementation of Java is known to cause such problems, since it differs from Sun Microsystems' Java specification.

As a user, there is little you can do if the Java applet is compiled for Microsoft's version of Java, apart from contacting to the Web master of the site in question about the problem.

Problems with JavaScript on certain sites
Platform: All platforms
If you have problems with JavaScript, please make sure you have enabled it in File > Preferences > Multimedia (or "Plug-ins" for Opera 5).

Many pages also need you to enable popup windows. In Opera, popups can be blocked, but this will cause problems if the site needs you to open a new window. You can enable popups in File > Preferences > Windows.

If, despite this, JavaScript does not appear to work properly in Opera, there are two possible reasons:

1. A bug in Opera or a feature which hasn't been implemented yet.

2. The site uses proprietary JavaScript extensions, and is written for specific browsers (usually Internet Explorer or Netscape 4).

#1 is an issue we can do something about, and every new version of Opera improves on Opera's JavaScript support. Future versions will also see much improved support for JavaScript in general and W3C DOM.

#2 is a problem we may not be able to do much about. It can often be difficult to know whether the problem is with Opera or the page, but you can always write the webmasters and ask if they know about Opera and if their pages are supposed to work with Opera.

Both these issues will be improved on in the future, as Opera is being worked on and webmasters become aware of alternative browsers.
